I was sitting here and thinking about how I didn't want to get up because my legs hurt from my workout and I thought of a question. Is the pain good? If you aren't in pain after a workout does that mean you aren't doing it right or am I working too hard?
GO YELLOW!!! (I wanted to use yellow font to be cool like Cathy but you can't really read it...)

"No Pain, No Gain"... not. Pain should never be an indicator of a good workout. Yes, it's true, you will most likely experience some discomfort from a tough workout, or even an unusual workout. There are many factors for this: tough workout that tears muscle fibers (not a bad thing necessarily), too much stress, not enough water, using muscles you normally don't, and an increase in volume - these are some of the more common reason. Should you be sore every time? Nope.
ReplyDeleteIf you're sore every time is this a bad thing? Nope.
How can you help curb the pain? Well, drinking lots and lots of water is a good start. A quality mulit-vitamin might help if there is a deficiency in the body (we sell one I like)... I also like the Life Pak Nano, but it's costly (about $100 each month). Fish oil will help reduce inflammation as well and might make it easier for you to recover. And, of course, there are NSAIDs (think Advil).
I hope this helps. Let me know if there's anything else.
