Only the Beginning

6 weeks. 40 days. 960 hours. 6 workouts. 12 walks. 2 rallies. Hills, weights, squats, push ups, sit ups, sweat, frustration, soreness....think about all of the things you have gone through this past month and a half. As you walk into the studio today for your final weigh in, focus on the other numbers involved in this transformation. Like the number of times you pushed yourself to try something new. Or how many conversations you had that you never saw coming. The number of hills you climbed, lunches you packed, and lives you touched. This marks the end of your 6-week journey, but it is only the beginning to living the rest of your life on a quality level. When we began with you all in January, I knew this was going to be something cool. I knew lessons would be learned, smack talk would emerge, and limits would be pushed. I could have never imagined everything else that came along with it though. Jesse, Ashley, and I went in to this hoping to change your lives, and I think we all felt a change in ourselves as well. To not only see your accomplishments with weight loss and strength gain, but to recognize the way that you celebrate each other and embrace battles won and fought hard has truly been amazing. Congratulations. Revel in your success. Encourage one another. Stick to your gameplan, and venture outside of your comfort zone. Challenge your body, your mind, and your being. What an opportunity it has been to work with the Towbes group. Teamwork is your framework and a positive atmosphere just radiates throughout your offices. Thank you for reminding us why we love what we do, I am proud of each and every one of you (Yes, even Blue and Yellow!) Take today to smile at one another, to give high fives, and hugs, and congratulations. Everyone has worked tremendously hard, and I only hope to continue to be a part of hearing and witnessing your continued progress. YOU DID IT!! Now keep going! See you all at noon =)

Feel the burn!

I was sitting here and thinking about how I didn't want to get up because my legs hurt from my workout and I thought of a question. Is the pain good? If you aren't in pain after a workout does that mean you aren't doing it right or am I working too hard?
GO YELLOW!!! (I wanted to use yellow font to be cool like Cathy but you can't really read it...)

Wednesday

Hey everyone!!
Sorry about this awful weather!! The rally is cancelled/postponed for now, stay tuned for details!! =(. This coming Wednesday, Doug Holt, owner of Conditioning Specialists, is coming to speak to you all about "Myth Busters." If any of you have ever heard or wondered about certain health and exercise related myths or ideas, post on the blog so that Doug will be able to answer any questions! Congratulations to everyone...I know that the weigh-in was very successful today and I am so proud of each and every person for working this hard toward a goal. It is an unbelievable and indescribable feeling from a trainer's standpoint to see results and a job well done. Congratulate yourselves, celebrate with each other, your love ones, and on your own, you definitely deserve it!!! Keep up the amazing work as we head toward week 4!

Vitamins

Should we be taking vitamins supplements? I take woman's one a day. I use to take GNC Mega Woman Vitamins. What would you suggest.

Is Luna Protien bar a good snack? I eat one a day around 10.

V-8

We need 9-5 servings of fruits and veggies daily, can we drink V-8 in replace of eating the recommend if we realized that we don't have time that day?

Milk

Green Team RULES!

I have a bowl of cereal every morning. I am lactoce intolerant and they only have Lacaid milk in Reduce Fat and Low Fat. What is the difference between the two?

See you Saturday.

Nearing the half way

Wow, I can't believe we are already onto week 3!!! This is pretty much the half way point for us. Blue team keeps on rocking it.

How is everyone else doing?

I have been really impressed with the feedback and questions I have been getting from my blue team. Also I have been thrilled to learn about the different accountability measures you are taking within your team at work. Keep it up guys. Now is the time to push hard to the finish!

Hoo Rah!

I have to (for once) agree with Jesse on his reflections of the rally. When Ashley, Jesse, and myself were planning and talking about Saturday morning, we were all very excited and hopeful as to what the hour would bring about. What I saw was truly unbelievable and blew away all of my expectations. I saw people push past their limits...whether it was running, jumping, or cheering. I saw teamwork, and I saw laughter. It was fun to look at everyone with the appropriate colored bandanna, but it was even cooler to see every color speckled around during the stretch circle at the end. I love the enthusiasm that each and every one of you are bringing to the table. Although I am biased toward my own champion Green-bees, they have mentioned the various other Towbes teammates who have been and held each other accountable over the past week and a half. Keep up the good work, and stay positive! Thank you for coming with a positive attitude and a sense of humor to the rally...look forward to some water balloons next time!!

Reflections on the First Rally...

Hello Team

This is not just for my blue team who displayed their obvious dominance at the rally today when they not only had the best turnout of team members showing up, but graced us all with their superiority in the morning activities.

This post is for the whole team, all of you competing, Ashley, Macie, and myself.

I had an awesome time this morning. You guys all did so well. I really appreciate not only all the hard work you guys put in, but also your sense of humor during it.

You all seem to be off to a fantastic start. It has been great hearing about your individual pursuits of your goals, but more than that, your accountablity towards one another. During our walking group on Thursday my blue team was sharing about how people are posting goals in the office and how they are checking on one another. When I came to meet them I saw a few of you doing some stair laps on your break... AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!

Keep up the good work guys you are an inspiring group to be around and I have no doubt that if you continue to work together you will reach all your goals!

Water

So how much water should I be drinking, and is it true that drinking lots of water can quell hunger pains? - Yellow Team Rules!!!!

So Excited!!

Hey Everybody! So excited about this weekend!! I hope to see everybody there ready to pelt Jessi with as many water balloons as possible!! I am gonna go jogging with my son this evening!!! GO GREEN TEAM!!! -Nicole

soda

what is it about "soda" that is so bad for you? Is it the sugar or is it the carbonation? Is it just as bad to drink TJ's carbonated water with no salt and no calories?

RAIN OR SHINE!!

Congratulations on your official week of the Towbes Corporate Wellness Challenge!! The weather has been glorious as we have begun walking, talking, and training, although I know questions have come up about some looming rain heading our way. As far at the first rally is concerned, which is THIS Saturday, January 24th at 9am, unless it is absolutely pouring rain, we will meet at Leadbetter Beach (across from the City College track) and continue on with the game plan! I am so proud to be a part of such an energetic company and will truly enjoy the taste of victory as the green team takes the gold ;-). Have a great week everyone!!

Good Luck Everyone

Before I start the competitive trash talking, I just wanted to take a moment to congratulate all who are involved in this program. This week marks the start of your six week journey to improve your health and fitness. Kudos to all of you who have stepped up to the plate.

I know the yellow and green teams will be competitive in fighting for second place, and since the blue team already has first place locked up, we must not forget that we are all in this together. So in the early goings I encourage all of you to give your fellow office mates lots of encouragement and exchange high fives for a job well done!

I am looking forward to watching you all transform!

Let the games begin!
